Categorizing Nouns
The students will drag and drop images to categorize the different types of nouns. The template will include a built-in chart so the results can be seen visually. Students will analyze the chart and discuss the results.

Task: Counting With Nickels and Pennies
  • Students will identify pennies and nickels.

Task: Time to the Hour

Performance Task: ABC Wall The students will create an ABC wall using wallwisher.com/stixty.com.

Essential Question or Enduring Understanding: We can use technology to share our learning with each other and our families. We can collaborate in one space to share our ideas.

Set-up: Create an account at Wallwisher or Stixty and make walls for your classes. Choose a topic. In my example we did animals.

Week One - Introduce Wallwisher to your class at the Smartboard. Allow a few students to come up to the board to add a sticky to the wall. After a few students do some examples, send the site to the whole class. Invite the class to add stickies independently to the wall. After the class is finished, bring them back to Smartboard to view the wall with everyone's stickies.

Week Two - Allow students to add stickies if they did not have a chance to last week. Then bring students together to write a blog post about their experience creating the wall together. After writing the post together, invite them to share their wall with their families and add more animal stickies.

Example: Mrs. Smith's ABC's
